This weekend I attended the first round of the Thornhill Summer Series. I would race both buggy classes. In round one I had a very good run in ebuggy taking the win over Jason Woolridge in second. Teammate Lance Myhre finished 7th.
Teammate Lance Myhre finished 7th.
In the Nitro heat I had some very bad luck with lap traffic and finished 5th.
In the second round I made a few changes to the ESC to smooth it out and it helped a bunch! I was able to better my time by a sec but it was much easier to drive.
The nitro heat was up and after making a few changes between rounds I was looking forward to this heat. My car was very good! I was able to beat the TQ from the first round by 12 secs.
In the 3rd round I was able to better my TQ by 5 secs and finish with a 8/5:06.845.
Again in Nitro I was able to better my TQ by 5secs also and finish with a 8/5:06.828

First up was the first of 2 ebuggy mains. Everyone decided that I should start last and work through the field. So I used it as practice driving in practice. After the first lap I was up to 2nd and would stay there till the 10th lap were I would take over the lead and finish 8 secs ahead.
The start of the nitro main was nice and smooth.
Durning the main I had a few problems. Right before the first pit stop I made a mistake and rolled it over and it flamed as the marshal was marshaling someone else. After that I lost roughly 38 secs or 1 lap. I put on a hard charge to the front. 4 laps later I made my way back to 3rd. A few laps after that I was able to move up to 2nd but 15 secs behind the leader with 7 mins left. I knew I had the time to make it up just had not make any mistakes. After 7 strong laps I was up to the lead and never looked back!
